Pueblo police are investigating a bad accident in Pueblo. They say Christopher Mondragon, 21, was speeding on West Northern around 2 this morning when he lost control of his car.

They say he went off the road, sideswiped a tree, and drove head on into another tree. His Chevy Impala caught fire, luckily several people who witnessed the accident rushed to his aid. They pulled him out of the burning car.

Mondragon was taken to Parkview hospital, then moved to a Denver hospital where he's listed in critical condition.

Police say he wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and speed appears to be a factor. The use of alcohol and drugs is also under investigation.
