City of Pueblo has 72 vacant jobs; some will be filled

The City of Pueblo is looking to fill a high number of vacant positions, but there will be limited job openings each month.

Right now, the City has 72 open positions, which is roughly 10% of its workforce. City Manager Jerry Pacheco says the high number of vacancies is the result of early retirement and last year's hiring freeze, which is no longer in place.

However, because of dismal city sales tax revenues Pacheco says they won't fill all these positions at once. "We certainly are going to fill some of those positions, because they are critical need, so we are not going to carry 72 positions vacant all year, but a portion of those we probably will," said Pacheco.

Right now the city has three job openings. To learn more visit the Employment Opportunities page on the City of Pueblo's website.
