Newly released documents say the man accused of shooting and wounding two students at a Colorado middle school told deputies he was hearing voices after his arrest and was trying to fend off "transforming forces" from his body.

An affidavit made public Friday also says Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood told deputies he fired at one student who had his back turned to him. Eastwood is charged with attempted murder and other counts after allegedly opening fire at Deer Creek Middle School in suburban Denver on Feb. 23.

He hasn't entered a plea. The affidavit says Eastwood appeared to be picking things from his skin and pushing something away while deputies were interviewing him after his arrest. His father has said he believes his son suffers from schizophrenia.
