Fort Carson welcomed home Soldiers from the 749th EOD early Tuesday morning at around 1 a.m.

The Fort Carson community welcomed home 42 Soldiers from the 749th Explosive Ordnance Company, 242nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion, 71st Ordnance Group, in a ceremony at the Waller Physical Fitness Center.

The Soldiers of the 749th were on a nearly year-long deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During their deployment, members of the 749th worked closely with a Navy Explosive Ordnance Detachment in support of Army units in the Northern areas of Iraq.
