Previous Stations: KCBY (CBS) - Coos Bay, Oregon, KTVL (CBS) - Medford, Oregon

Industry Awards: Two consecutive regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for investigative reports.  One of these investigations also earned the national Edward R. Murrow Award as the best in the nation.  Numerous others, including: Best In-Depth, Best Feature, Best Spot News, and Best Specialty Reporter from the Colorado Broadcasters Association and Best Investigative from the Associated Press.

Personal Interests: Kayaking, fishing, hunting, reading.

Interesting Fact: I was a professional whitewater rafting guide for several years on rivers in Washington, Oregon, and Colorado.

Narrative:
James started working for News First in December of 1996. He anchored the mid-day newscast and weekend newscasts and now reports for News First Investigates. He's won numerous awards for his reporting from such organizations as the Associated Press, Colorado Broadcasters Association and the Southern Colorado Press Club.

He started his career in broadcast news at KCBY-TV in Coos Bay, Oregon. From there he moved to KTVL-TV in Medford, Oregon where he anchored, produced and reported.
James has also been a whitewater rafting guide. He started guiding on rivers in Washington and Oregon while he was in high school.

These days, when he's not working, he spends most of his time with his beautiful daughter, Olivia. She was born in July of 2000.
