Little dog will live free, if he doesn't bite

(AP) - A Lafayette judge ruled a dog accused of biting a veterinary technician will run free if he behaves for six months.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys had proposed dropping vicious animal charges against Spork, a 10-year-old miniature Dachshund. The judge agreed Friday, but only if the dog behaves.

Spork allegedly bit the technician in the face when she reached to take him from his owner. His owner said her dog was simply scared. The 17-pound Spork had been taken to Jasper Animal Hospital
to have a tooth extracted.

Defense attorneys had argued the case should be dismissed because the state's vicious animal law does not apply to dogs that bite animal care workers such as veterinarians.

Who was the idiot that thought filing charges in this case was reasonable? This is absurd. This is just as bad as tazing a 10 year old boy because he's carrying a stick and refuses to put it down.
