A passion for video editing has gained a local high school student national attention. Jeff Stark, a junior at Air Academy High School, recently created a public service announcement and a documentary about distracted driving.

The documentary earned him an honorable mention in the C-SPAN StudentCam 2010 contest.  The PSA earned him the top prize, a new laptop computer, in the McDivitt Makes a Difference contest.

Stark says his research for the project taught him a lot about the issues of texting and driving and distracted driving.

"I just think it's a really stupid thing to do because you're driving, you're supposed to keeping you're eyes on the road, you shouldn't be doing anything else," Stark said.

A crew from CSPAN also visited the high school recently as to say thanks.
