More prison for surgery tech who infected patients

A drug-addicted surgery tech who admitted stealing painkillers and infecting patients with Hepatitis C will face more prison time.

Kristen Diana Parker renewed her guilty plea Friday before a federal judge in Denver. Parker had already pleaded guilty in an agreement with prosecutors that was have sent her to prison for 20 years.

But U.S. district Judge Robert Blackburn rejected that plea, saying 20 years was not enough prison time. The plea deal rejection meant that parker could have changed her mind on pleading guilty.

A sentencing hearing has been set for Feb. 24.

There making an example of her. It's a damn shame. Anyone who is an addict or has one in there family should know she did what any other opiate addict would have done in the same circumstances.

What is wrong with you? Let me guess, you weren't one if the people who's life she ruined were you? Everyone is responsible for their own actions and choices. Idiots like you are the ones who help keep bad people on the streets so they can hurt more people.

Jessica, you don't understand what addiction is. Until you do shut up.

There is a difference being an addict and knowing "the disease of addiction.". It is a disease Jessica. All you have to do is 5 minutes worth of research to see it is a "brain disease." Of course everyone is responsible for there own actions and choices. I agree. This women didn't do anything that any opiate addict wouldn't have done if they were in the same shoes. In the midst of my addiction I would kill my first born to get a bag. The only thing I didn't do in my addiction was sexual favors. Everyone is overlooking her remorsefulness and sorrow. These are 2 entirely different people. One is the addict persona and the other is clean and sober. These 2 are nothing alike and I believe she is definitely being used as a example. Now the judge says 20 years is not good enough and give her longer. Many violent crimes don't get nearly as long a sentence. She might as well as take it to trial and waste as much of the taxpayers money as possible since she is going to get the same amount of time as she would as if she was going to trial. The judge should take that into consideration also.
