In the midst of campaigning for re-election, Senator Michael Bennet returned to Colorado Springs on Sunday.

The senator met with nearly a dozen people at Poor Richard's Bookstore to gain input and discuss ideas on how to reform Washington's current state, including: reducing the federal deficit, health care, and creating more jobs for Americans.

The group also discussed a new set of legislative reforms that Senator Bennet unveiled last week, which can be found here.

He also directed people to an area of his website where people can write to him, and he can respond directly. You can voice your opinion here.

There are several other candidates currently campaigning for election, including Republican Jane Norton and Democrat Andrew Romanoff.

To date I've received half a dozen e-mails from Senator Bennet wherein he describes his philosphy and efforts.

I've disagreed on several key points, and wrote him with my concerns and recommendations for change which makes sense and is in the best interests of the people of our state and our nation.

To date, he has yet to reply, so I'm voting for the other guy.

Poor Richard's?  Sure wish I'd have known about  it!

Surely there must be some genuine reason why neither David [above] nor I who have beeen attempting to correspond with the Honorable Senator were not notified!  Would anyone know what that might be?

I'm completely mystified as to why Sen. B didn't notify all the people to whom he wrote those insipid letters about the nobility of the wonderful Health Care Bill which the American people simply DO NOT WANT, that he was goig to be here!

SURELY... he wanted our input!  Or, better stated  could it have been he only wanted to fill the Poor Richard facility ... e' Nada Mas!

the Honorable Senator seems to wish to be involved.  seems to Want to speak with the populace and wants input on the issues listed above.

Hmmmmmm ....  seems strange that I didn't get a response from him when I offered to meet with him, even offered input! He was SO QUICK to write to me to tell me how wonderful the Health Care Bill was ...

Oh, well .... at least we have this forum to make ourselves heard when our Legislators ignore their constituents requests.  Relevant issues?  Yes! I have lots of comments that are relevant and even problem solving! I'd even like some deaf ears for them to fall upon rather than NO ears!

Reduce the deficit?  how can we do that when we allow the Legislators to vote themselves large pay raises when many aren't even working at all! Do ANY of the Legislators understand the meaning of the word 'Propriety'?

Wait .... we didn't even have anything to say about THAT one!

Ok, how about the Illegal Aliens that put Nothing into the system and get free SS benefits and don't have to pay hospital costs? WHO DOES pay for that senator Bennett?

Anyone else want to share their concerns with david and me?

One can only wonder where Michael Bennet gets his mandate to vote for HIS agenda in Health Care. Certainly not from the people of Colorado, who did not vote for him, but from his appointment by another disappointing public figure, Bill Ritter. Yet his giddiness in proposing to spend trillions of our tax dollars speaks of his delusional belief that voters are standing behind him. Nothing could be further from the truth. A majority of Coloradans do not support this legislation. Bennet is fond of saying that is he not afraid of losing his job if he votes for Health Care. Of course not! This ?Trust Fund Baby? doesn?t have to worry.  Regardless of how relentless this tax will be on the rest of us and our descendents for years to come, he?ll be just fine, job or no job. Hopefully, we?ll be able to help him to realize the ?losing his job? rhetoric come November.
