Sheriff Maketa to seek re-election after all

Posted : Feb 8, 2010 8:51 PM

El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa has changed his mind. He will seek another term. On Monday Sheriff Maketa announced his plans to seek re-election. He said he made the decision after speaking with his family this past weekend. Less than three weeks ago Sheriff Maketa said that he wouldn't run again so he could pursue other career opportunities.

Let someone who is decisive and knows what they want to do for El Paso County run for sheriff. Todd Evans is that man! Not Maketa, who originally said he wasn't interested in running again. So let Maketa find another career. Colorado Springs and El Paso County don't need or want Maketa.

So if your you change your mind you are indecisive? WOW. Or did he just need some time to reflect and talk it over with his family. Maybe he did not like the hacks that were lineing up for the job. Terry is one of the best Sheriffs in Colorado its amazing what he is able to with the Dept while his budget is cut out from under him by the jokes that serve as our county commissioners. It would cause me pause to think about the job.

With your hands tied and the budget so tight it would make your eyes pop out. I am glad for what ever the reason Sheriff Maketa is running again! He is a true Sheriff that is honorable. In a day where most would care more about what's in it for me than what can I do for you, I will give him my vote long before someone that just tells you what you want to hear. Good luck Sir and keep fighting the good fight!

That Sheriff Maketa is running again is to the benefit of Colorado Springs.  Lets all get behind his campaign and give him a resounding victory at the polls.
