Springs, Pueblo partner to improve economy

Economic leaders in Pueblo and Colorado Springs say they're willing to work together to bring more jobs and economic growth to Colorado. The Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation, the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, and the Pueblo Economic Development Corporation are now part of a group of business partners committed to economic advancement for Southern Colorado.
With the addition of three new partners, the group has changed its name from The Pikes Peak Regional Business Partnership to The Southern Colorado Business Partnership.
"There's strength in numbers and that's what this partnership does," said Rod Slyhoff, President of the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce. "It creates an opportunity for the business organizations to come together and work on issues of common concern and move our region forward," he added.
"This partnership really represents the economic engine that drives this entire region," said Mike Kazmierski, President of the Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation.
The other existing members are The Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Experience Colorado Springs at Pikes Peak, Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce, Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce, Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce, The Southern Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce, The Colorado Springs Black Chamber of Commerce, Front Range Executive Service Corps , The Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce and The Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau.
