Just over a week ago the Lewis-Palmer hockey team won the state high school championship. Now their goalie has been named the "Loaf ‘N Jug High School Athlete of the Week."

Brent Schwarz attends Palmer Ridge high school but since they don't have a hockey team he plays for Lewis-Palmer. And to use an old hockey cliché he stood on his head during the championship run. In Lewis-Palmer's 3-2 overtime win over Ralston Valley the Rangers were outshot 34-10. Coach Steve Fillo later said Schwarz stole the game. Brent has the best stats of any goalie in the state with a goals against average of 1.39 and a save average of almost 95 percent. Brent is also an honor student in the classroom.
