The Teller County Sheriff's Office is investigating several fraudulent cases involving a person by the name of J.R. Day. He may also go by the names Jr. Day, Harold Ray Day and by a family members name (Fred Day).

According to the sheriff's office, Mr. Day's business, J.R. Chimney Service is known for roofing, gutter cleaning, chimney installations and general handy man work. They say Mr. Day has falsely represented himself to the community of Teller County as a licensed and insured contractor, leaving many residents in Teller County and surrounding areas with uncompleted work that was previously paid for in advance.

The Teller County Sheriff's Office would like to remind its residents to use caution when seeking individuals who work in these fields. Citizens should not be afraid to request background information, seek referrals, proper licensing and identification.

If any person in Teller County has had similar experience with Mr. Day and his business, they are asking that you please contact the Teller County Sheriff's Office at (719)687-9652 or your local Law Enforcement Agency.
