A multi-car accident shut down traffic on Highway 24, west of Woodland Park, for several hours.

The State Patrol says a white SUV lost control and hit a Ford pickup truck. A snow plow was coming up on the accident, and did not have time to stop, hitting the SUV.

Investigators say the drivers of the first two vehicles were seriously injured and were transported to area hospitals. The snow plow driver was not hurt.
